Alkaline Diet Recipe: Skin & Hair Detox Salad

Today, I’ve got a recipe for you that will enhance the beauty of your skin and hair with several of the best foods for soothing inflammation, keeping the scalp and skin healthy, and getting the glow you want.

 

It’s a delicious summer salad with a crunchy, flavorful seed topping that really sets it apart from most salads.

Skin & Hair Detox Salad

Serves 4

 

INGREDIENTS for Dry Mixture

 

chia seeds

4 tbsp. pumpkin seeds

4 tbsp. flaxseeds

2 tbsp. poppy seeds

1/2 tsp. dried chili

1 tsp. sea salt (Celtic Grey, Himalayan, or Redmond Real Salt)

 

DIRECTIONS

 

In a small mixing bowl, mix the seeds, dried chili, and Sea salt and set aside.

 

INGREDIENTS for Salad

 

1/2 celery root, grated/finely sliced

4 carrots, grated 1 fennel, finely sliced

2 cups red cabbage, finely sliced

2 cups green cabbage, finely sliced

2 cups arugula

1 avocado, cubed

Sprouts, large handful (i.e. alfalfa, mung, or broccoli)

8 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil (2 tbsp. for each serving bowl)

Optional: 1 tomato, sliced or diced

 

DIRECTIONS

 

After you have finely chopped/grated the celery root, carrot, zucchini, fennel, and cabbage; combine with arugula in a large bowl. Add the Dry Mixture and mix well.

 

Above mixture makes 4 servings. For individual serving, add to a small serving bowl, and dress with a handful of sprouts and avocado cubes. Then drizzle with 2 tablespoons olive oil (or more if desired).

 

Add more sea salt if desired, serve, and enjoy!
