Dry January = Failure.
Dry January = deprivation, which always leads to failure. It just doesn’t work. Worst off, you count down the days, and when you don’t make it, you feel defeated. Harmful self-talk such as, “You will never change; why even try?!” creeps into your body, mind, and soul. You feel hopeless, and the negative cycle continues.
Damp January = A Realistic Month of Moderation
Instead, sprinkle in some realistic and achievable goals for yourself with “Damp January.” It’s all about finding your BALANCE.
Instead of mindlessly gulping down 3 drinks a night, savor the experience by slowly drinking 1 glass. Just the art of slowing down helps you uncover the feelings of calm and balance that may be trapped under the clutter in your mind.
As a celebrity nutritionist and gut health expert, I am here to tell you to ENJOY ALCOHOL. Just use MY TOOLS to choose better options.
Winding down with a cocktail that does NOT destroy your gut health nor lead to a horrible hangover can be your reality. Now, that’s something to cheers to. *Clinks glasses.*

Acid-Kicking Alcohol Alkalizer
Alcohol is 10,000 (pH of 3.0) more acidic than water. No wonder it causes hangovers, bloating, acid reflux, inflammation, depression, brain fog, etc. This is why I found a way to NEUTRALIZE THE ACID in your favorite boozy beverage.
Just 5 drops of my Acid-Kicking Alcohol Alkalizer takes away the acid in beer, liquor, wine, and soda. It won’t change the color or taste of your beloved beverage—it just shifts it into an alkaline state. You can enjoy being on cloud wine at night and wake up on cloud nine in the morning. Dreams really do come true.
Tool: Add 5 drops of Acid-Kicking Alcohol Alkalizer to your 1 drink tonight.
Be And Drink Your Best
Not all alcohol is created equally. While ALL types of alcohol are acidic, wreck your gut, and drive up inflammation in the body—there are better options. This is why I created my Never, Better, Best List.
NEVER: Craft, IPA, Belgium, lager…it’s all the same. No matter your pursuit of happiness, beer is the single most acidic alcohol on the market. Cider is another bad apple in the brewski family. Pre-mixed cans and liqueurs are also on the list because they overflow with sugar, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and acidic ingredients.
BETTER: A little wine is fine, but check the label because many are high in sugar and yeast. Dry Farm Wines are made with virtually no sugar. Always go for dryer wines (less sugar and yeast) such as Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, and Prosecco. Whiskey is a better option because it doesn’t have sugar but is made from grains, including wheat.
BEST: Tequila, gin, or grain-free vodka. Here’s the secret these spirits are holding: All alcohol is fermented. However, liquors are distilled, removing sugar, carbohydrates, and impurities.
This is just a quick taster. For a deep dive and to answer your “whys,” please read this blog post.

Healthier Drinking Tips
- Choose clearer + harder = better. Darker or opaque drinks with less alcohol content are usually more acidic and sugary and you want to avoid them.
- Be mindful of mixers. Mixers, syrups, and juices are essential sugar-water with no nutritional value and tons of acidity. Even more dreadful is using diet sodas as mixers since they are loaded with artificial sweeteners, AKA the #1 most acidic ingredient on the planet!
- Go Grain-Free. Drink grain-free liqueur, as alcohol grains lead to massive inflammation and leaky gut issues.
- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Solution by dilution: drink a glass of water before you have your first drink, and in between.
