  • Take “thanks” and “giving” ACTIONS as a family. Getting outside your world and giving back is a tangible way to release stress and practice gratitude. It can be as simple as having each family member choose a few toys and clothes to donate to a homeless shelter or spend time volunteering with a local nonprofit this weekend.

  • Pile the “gratitude” on everyone’s plate. During the meal (on Thanksgiving and throughout the year), have each person share a few things they are grateful for. This practice can transform the conversation from small talk or hazardously arguing over politics to hugs, appreciation, happy tears, and meaningful connections. Blissfully watch stress float away.

  • Love your Mother & Nature. First things first, moms (mom figures, aunts, grandma, etc.) do more than meet the human eye and need to be bountifully celebrated at all times! The same goes for Mother Nature, so get outside and appreciate her! Take the family on a brisk walk (or hike, bike, snowshoe!), pick up some trash, and slow down and truly “smell the roses.” Fresh air, exercising, quality time together, mindfulness, and admiring nature are some of the best ways to melt your stress away.

  • Unearth your balance and nourishment. You can never “have it all,” but you CAN have “your all.” Find your balance.
