    HOW TO TEST URINE pH

Purpose of Test: Urine pH is different than blood and saliva, as urine is the output from your kidneys – in other words, what your body is dumping, excreting, and getting rid of. That means you’ll often see a higher acidic reading in the morning, as your body is most acidic in the middle of the night (and when cleansing or detoxifying).

When to Test: The body is ALWAYS most acidic upon waking, so the ideal times to test your urine pH are at least two hours after eating, around 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Directions: Urinate into a cup and dip the pH test strip (preferred) and then remove it, or urinate on a pH test strip midstream.

Read the results no more than fifteen seconds after testing.

    Ideal Result Range: 6.0–7.0
    Mildly Acidic: 5.5–6.0

    Strongly Acidic: 4.5–5.5

Acceptable urine pH ranges should always read more acidic than saliva pH tests, as this is an indicator of the kidneys doing their job to eliminate the dietary and metabolic acids from your body.

A reading of less than 6.0 signifies that you are in a state of chronic low-grade acidosis, are deficient in mineral reserves (magnesium, calcium, potassium, and sodium bicarbonate), and need to start alkalizing.

    HOW TO TEST SALIVA pH

Purpose of Test: Saliva pH readings are indicative of what the body is RETAINING or holding onto in regards to the minerals in the body, especially the blood. That is the reason why I say that saliva pH most resembles blood pH, because saliva is the first place your body will steal minerals from to balance blood pH

When to Test: There are two different ways you can test your saliva pH, either ‘Between Meals’ or the ‘Eating Saliva pH Test’.

The saliva pH test Between Meals should be taken at least two hours after eating, ideally around 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

You can also do the ‘Eating Saliva pH Test which should be performed as you get ready to eat and your mouth begins to salivate in response to thinking about the food in front of you. This test determines if you have the necessary alkaline mineral reserves to act as a buffer or neutralizer of acid when your body needs it.

Directions: Before doing this test, swallow your saliva twice, and either put the pH test strip directly on the saliva you have gathered in between your lips or spit it into a spoon and test it there (ideal method).

Read the results no more than fifteen seconds after testing.

    Ideal Result Range: 7.2–7.4.

A reading of less than 7.0 signifies that you are in a state of chronic low-grade acidosis, which means you are deficient in mineral reserves (magnesium, calcium, potassium, and sodium bicarbonate) and need to start alkalizing immediately.
